Quantum Medical Staffing, is a national healthcare staffing company specializing in placing American, Canadian and other foreign trained nurses on assignments throughout the United States. Nurses trained and educated outside of the United States must obtain a work visa in order to work legally in the U.S.
There are two types of visas, temporary (usually offered in increments of one to three years) and permanent (Green Card or permanent resident). Presently, temporary visas are not available to most foreign trained nurses so Quantum Medical Staffing only sponsors international applicants through permanent status.
Although, there is one temporary visa category, H-1C, that is afforded to nurses, it is too restrictive for practical use. In addition, many people mistakenly believe that another temporary visa, H-1B is available to RNs however less than 1% of nurses would be eligible for this visa, so again it is not a viable method for entry into the U.S.
Typically, we sponsor nurses for Green Cards through a process know as consular processing. Consular processing will take approximately 10 to 18 months to complete and until your sponsorship is complete you must remain outside of the U.S. and are not eligible to work here. In exchange for sponsorship, Quantum Medical Staffing or one of its clients will require an employment commitment of no less than 18 months.
